We have the ability to provide growers with maps of their fields showing areas that are similar as zones. These zones can be determined by topography, crop yield history, soil maps, satellite imagery, airplane imagery, UAV imagery, or Veris machine. You can use these zone maps to adjust fertilizer for specific areas in the field.
Different methods that can be used with zone mapping:
Apply what is needed to each zone to get the same yield. This method is only truly profitable when soil tests are variable.
Even if your soil tests are even, attempt higher yield goals in areas that you believe have more potential and decrease in other areas.
Apply highest yield goal in you middle-ground zone.
Apply highest amount of fertilizer in most needed areas, and less in less needed areas.
